The mountain lifestyle

Alpine spirit.
A connection to more.

Alpine Meadows is a mountain community off Highway 89 between Tahoe City and Truckee. The ski area is the Alpine side of Palisades Tahoe; the neighborhood stretches beyond the lifts into wooded residential streets and mountain settings.

WINTER ON THE MOUNTAIN

Alpine skiing

Plan a day around Alpine’s terrain, then check current lift status, trail maps, weather and ticket requirements before leaving home. Palisades Tahoe participates in Ikon Pass; access depends on your pass product and current terms.

CONNECT THE BASE AREAS

Base to Base Gondola

The gondola links Alpine Lodge with The Village at Palisades Tahoe in Olympic Valley. It is a winter connection, subject to operating schedules, weather and ticket requirements. It does not create a continuous ski trail between the two mountains.

YOUR BASE FOR THE DAY

Alpine Lodge

The day lodge anchors the Alpine base area. Meadows Café offers a food-court setting and access to the lodge deck. Explore current dining, après and rental options before your visit. Alpine Lodge is a resort day lodge; it is not an overnight hotel.

Make the mountain easier to reach

Accessibility matters.
So does getting around.

Plan for your access needs

The resort publishes Alpine base-area and lodge ADA maps showing accessible routes and facilities. Review those maps and contact the resort about your specific needs before traveling.

Achieve Tahoe offers adaptive snowsports programs with a program center at Alpine Meadows. Contact its team ahead of time about lessons, equipment and availability.

Shuttles & winter transportation

Mountaineer offers free, on-demand winter rides within Alpine Meadows and Olympic Valley according to its published service areas and schedules. ADA rides can be requested in the app.

The resort also publishes inter-base shuttle and park-and-ride information. Confirm the current pickup locations, operating dates and accessibility arrangements directly with the operator.

Buying with accessibility in mind? Tell Crystal what works for you—step-free entries, garage access, fewer stairs, room for equipment or proximity to a shuttle. Each home needs its own review, especially in winter when snow, ice and driveway grades can change the experience.
Beyond ski season

Trail mornings.
River afternoons.

Summer brings a different rhythm: wooded trails, granite landscapes and the Truckee River corridor near the entrance to Alpine Meadows Road.

Bear Creek runs through the Alpine valley. The Truckee River follows the Highway 89 corridor below, with riverside recreation and connections toward Tahoe City and Olympic Valley. River activities depend on flows, conditions and operator schedules.

Five Lakes is a mountain hike, not a paved accessible path. Choose terrain that suits your group, check current trail conditions and respect seasonal closures.

VERIFY THE CONNECTION

Ski access

Some properties may offer slope-adjacent or ski-in/ski-out access. A townhome label alone does not establish that privilege. Confirm the exact route, access rights, terrain and snow-dependent limitations for each listing.

Plan your arrival

Getting here.
Settling in.

Reach Alpine Meadows via Highway 89 and Alpine Meadows Road. Tahoe City and Truckee provide nearby shopping, dining and connections to the wider region. Reno–Tahoe International Airport is a regional arrival point; weather and mountain traffic affect travel times.

Before a winter visit, check road and chain-control information, resort parking requirements and shuttle schedules. Parking rules can differ between base areas and by date.

A few helpful answers

Before you choose a home.

Are all Alpine Meadows townhomes ski-in/ski-out?

No. Access is specific to the property. Confirm the route, legal access, terrain, snow coverage and lift operations. Some homes are better described as a short drive or shuttle ride from skiing.

Does the gondola connect to Olympic Valley?

Yes. The Base to Base Gondola connects Alpine Lodge with The Village at Palisades Tahoe in Olympic Valley during its winter operating season, subject to conditions. Check the resort’s current operating report and ticket rules.

Can I plan an accessible ski visit?

Start with the resort’s Alpine ADA maps and accessibility team. Contact Achieve Tahoe about adaptive lessons and equipment. Request an ADA Mountaineer ride through the app when service is operating.

Can Crystal help with a specific property type?

Yes. Send Crystal your budget, preferred home type, ski-access needs and any accessibility priorities. She can help narrow the neighborhood’s available listings and arrange a visit.
